In the more than twenty years of the mission of “Casa Calea” (formerly Casa Cana), not only the world has changed, but also the details of the work and mission. The need of the people changed and so have the circumstances.
The heart of the mission however is still the same and is even more vibrant and aflame: it is the love of God that inspires us.
Children
An important and large part of the work in the past was the childrens work. As many addicted and homeless children lived on the street and in the gutters, there was a great need in the eighties and nineties. Among the long term fruit of the mission of “Casa Calea” we see that part of our current helping crew is a harvest of the investment in the early years.
Womans work
In the nineties and in the later years, an important part of the mission was the womans ministry. Listening to woman, helping them, and provide shelter and practical help has always been a main ingredient of the “Casa Calea” ministry.
Bible study and worship
“Casa Calea” has always been a place where God is at work in and through his diciples. And not only could this be seen in the practical work, but there has always been time and a place for reading the Bible together, to do Bible study, and to have time for prayer and worship.
Extended help
The mission of “Casa Calea” will always be a place where people are welcome with all kind of situations, questions, problems. And when we cannot help people ourselves, we feel that we are surrounded with a lot of other people and organisations who can.
